The Fresnel lens of the lighthouse concentrates the light from the oil lamp for an unbelievable range of 23 miles. The rotation of the light is driven by gravity, dropping a weight from the top of the tower to turn a gear mechanism. The characteristic is FL (5) 15s 23M.
