Coinjock

We made it to Coinjock today, but slowly. When we left our anchorage, the starboard engine wouldn't spin up to cruising revs, so we backed it down to displacement speed (9 knots). I suspect the engine fuel filter is ready for a change, so we'll start there.

Another easy run from Oriental to Slade Creek, just off the Pungo River. We have this place to ourselves.

We're tied up in Oriental on the free dock. We're next to the fishing fleet!

Today we shared the harbor with this beauty. Atlantide is about as elegant as it gets in yachting.

Oh, yes, it's time for a refreshing beverage. It was a long run and we made 110 miles today.

Onslow Beach Bridge

The bridge is under maintenance, so we had to squeeze through the barges to get through, only 30 feet for the gap!

Early Morning Start

We had an early start and I always appreciate this time of day because of the light. We're safely in Southport for the night.

Heavy Equipment

We passed a tug hauling dredge pipes, assisted by an entourage of support tugs. It was a tight squeeze in the channel, but it all worked out fine.

Heading North

Running up the ICW today as we leave St. Augustine behind. We made it to Cumberland Island, GA this afternoon. We're anchored in a beautiful spot for the night.

We made it to Daytona after a strong thunderstorm rolled across the Florida peninsula. We had limited visibility for a short time, but it wasn't much of a problem.

We had a good run in the ICW today, south winds, 10-15 knots. We're in Cocoa Village for the night.

We in the US tend to forget what happened to the British loyalists after the Revolutionary War. Many fled to the Bahamas to carry on after losing their homeland in the colonies.

Weather Window

Sensei at Green Turtle Cay. We're going to wait here for the next weather window to cross the Gulfstream. It's not a bad place to wait! Right now it looks like the next window is a week away.
