Driftwood

From our walk this afternoon…

On Da Beach

Suzan played with the band yesterday at the appreciation party for Nurse Glory. She's the nurse who patched me up last year after I fell on the dock.

Green Turtle Cay

We're in Green Turtle Marina for a few days… that smoke in the background is from a brush fire on the big island across the Sea of Abaco.

Fuel

Approaching the fuel dock today. We took on enough fuel to get us back to Florida. Yes, it's time to leave the Bahamas to begin making our way home. It's always bittersweet, but we've enjoyed our time here. We expect to cross in about a week.

Saoirse

Hanging out with our friends from Saoirse today, lunch at On Da Beach and some grocery shopping.

SpaceX

Tonight's SpaceX launch! Heading right over us in Hopetown!
Update: we have never been in this "downrange" position before when witnessing a SpaceX launch. From this vantage point, we were able to see the booster separation, and the payload fairing separation, as the vehicle passed over. Then, we got to see the boost back burn as the booster worked its way towards a landing on the recovery vessel. Very cool.

Showers

Stray showers in the area last evening.

Attitude

The Bahamians deal with adversity here all the time, most notably from hurricane Dorian a few years ago. Their recovery efforts are ongoing.

Dead End

From our walk to the graveyard today.

Stormy Weather

Rain is coming. Time to hunker down!

Predestination

The Beach

The whole island on the Atlantic side is a beach, and is sparsely populated, so we often have it to ourselves.

Elbow Cay

We toured around Elbow Cay on our scooters today. The island is about 5 miles long, so it's great to have some transportation.

Jib Sea Sole

We had a fun afternoon at On Da Beach with the band Jib Sea Sole.

Sandbar

From our walk yesterday. Suzan took this picture out on the sandbar at low tide.

Spanish Wells

The palette remains unchanged.

Groceries

Today is grocery day, and they have a good store here. It's also watering day, so we took on 100 gallons of water. Feeling replenished.

Docking

All of the slips in Spanish Wells were spoken for at the Yacht Haven, so we had to improvise by tying up to the fishing pier. Staying flexible, specializing in recovery.

Spanish Wells

From our run to Spanish Wells today. Smooth seas due to light winds, so perfect!

Shroud Cay

We're meeting up with friends at Shroud Cay today. It's windy and the anchorage is rolling, but we are hoping that it calms down later today. We currently have NE winds at 10-15 knots. It should veer more east tonight which should help.

Lizard

These little guys are everywhere along the trails… anyone know what kind of lizard he is?

Mooring

The area where the water is deep is very narrow, so moorings are the only way to be here. Here you can see distinctly the sandbars on either side of the channel. (The lighter blue areas are shallow sand.)

Warderick Wells

Just arrived!

Starlink

This post, and most others have been brought to you via Starlink. This system has been excellent throughout our trip, delivering broadband speeds to all the remote places we go. So cool.
