Tugs
This was a terrifying moment: a tug appeared in the channel and we moved to the outside of the channel where we were almost aground. And still it got this close! As it swept by in the turn we realized that it was going to be close and we had no control over what was happening. Fortunately, the tug captain managed to keep it barely in the channel. Hoping for less excitement in the future.

Friends
Today we had the chance to enjoy time with our friends, Susan and Howard. It was great to see some former Annapolitans.
Idyllic Times
We have enjoyed walking the town of Charleston, eating very good food, and soaking up some of the local history. Yesterday we toured the Edmonston-Alston house (not pictured here), near the Battery area overlooking the harbor. We're approaching "half-time" for our stay here, and soon our thoughts and efforts will turn to getting ready for the next legs of our voyage. Our friends, Eveleen and Eric, will join us Sunday, we'll do some provisioning and set off again on Tuesday.

Charleston
We're in the land of classic southern living. Beautiful homes line the streets and the weather is genteel.

Charleston
There are big boats here! We arrived today in Charleston and are looking forward to enjoying the town, visiting family, and getting some housekeeping done.

Stono River
We're anchored in the Stono River for the evening. We struck out trying to get a slip in Charleston tonight, but we're all set for tomorrow. Boating teaches flexibility and all kinds of other lessons.

All Quiet Aboard
We're bedding down for the evening in Parrot Creek, north of Beaufort. We're several days early for our reservations and we are unable to get a slip in Beaufort. We'll press on in the morning for Charleston, where we are wait listed. Fortunately, we can anchor and we have plenty of everything aboard!

Kilkenny Creek
We arrived this afternoon at Kilkenny Creek. This is just a place to set our anchor and sleep overnight. Tomorrow we'll be off again.
Leaving Brunswick
There were low clouds and haze this morning as we departed Brunswick. Winds are light, from the south.

Playing on the Dinghy
Some cruising friends shared this photo of us from our time at Cumberland Island. So great to meet people along the way.
City Hall
This is City Hall in Brunswick. We strolled a nice street of shops and restaurants housed in the historic district. There's a cool northeast breeze today making for pleasant conditions in town. Tomorrow we'll continue onward, probably to anchor in a quiet place.

Two of a Kind
Sensei to the left, Windward on the right, both from Annapolis. We hope to meet the other owners someday.

Along the way…
We went through many narrow passages on our way to Daytona today. We met up with our friends Linda and Greg for dinner, and they are joining us for the ride to St. Augustine tomorrow. Tired now, heading to bed…
